Is this all from your garden? You are putting me to shame!

nope, sadly, not all my garden...my friend is a magic gardener...everything she touches flourishes and I was over taking some photos of her flowers yesterday...the zukes are mine and will be traded for some of her hundreds of tomatoes...or for some of my marinara...mmm mmm. I have Romas ripening but they aren't very good for marinara, just not juicy enough...

Maybe next year we'll get some real gardening done. We moved in June-ish,and we got started kinda late. All we have are flowers this year..Still, much better than last year. The crack heads ruined our little flower beds. I love it here!!
Speaking of which, the crack head is back in court on Friday. Hopefully, this will be KC's last court date.

I've got lots of grape tomatoes- they are so yummy- and two yellow pear tomato plants which are just starting to ripen. None of my big orange tomatoes are ready yet.

Gardening is such a wonder!

In a sauce pan, fry some onion, garlic and italian spices(yummy fresh Basil if you have it but really any and all italian spices), then add in diced tomatoes, and a pinch of sugar. Let it simmer for at least twenty minutes...you can serve it that way over pasta or puree it to use as a base for other pasta sauces...it is a really nice mellow red sauce that can be spiced up for a plainer pasta or left plain for something like a chees stuffed ravioli, so that the sauce doesn't overpower the pasta... and it's a nice sauce because you can make as little or as much as you like....I do go on and on about food...yikes.

Oh, extra tomatoes are great for making Pico De Gallo, too, but Michael will have to write out that recipe...great for an appy with tortilla chips.

seriously, you have to stop.you garden, cook, bake, what else do you do? If my Hubby sees this, I'm in trouble. He might want me to do the same kinds of things....

please don't call me Martha cuz I hate that woman...but I do love being a homemaker, even without the kids. I have been working forever and now that I am home, without all the f'ing hassle of dealing with the public(service industry jobs mostly), I am so content and have found that I love baking, and cooking and gardening...but Michael is quite the gardener, too, and a most excellent cook, so your hubby better watch out, as well...and I always had this weird thing about cleaning...I think cuz I grew up in a really "chaotic" household. My sister is the same way. She REALLY grooves on the scent of Pine Sol...I prefer Murphy's Oil Soap, but I am sure it is for the same reasons...

hers- I hope you like it... it's my favourite because of the versality...if you like more garlic, add garlic. If you like more basil, add it, ya know?

I hate house work, of any kind except vacuuming, and laundry. I love a clean house, I just don't want to be the one to do it. Then there's the whole depression thing....My sister says that ironing makes her cry...must run in the family.
