Chase River Estuary Dog Walk

Thought I might take you all along on my dog walk by the river.... this giant steel circle is at the beginning of the walk...I am not sure what it is, but it sure looks cool. It would be a good place to take an album cover shot(CD, album, whatever). Coal mines were here long ago and maybe this is some leftover of that age gone by...they loaded ships with coal here... Foundations of miners' housing or coal mine offices, I will assume. There are numerous old foundations here and the trees growing through them are big...so they were abandoned long ago...
I like this one...
A derelict old piece of rust....
Little white balls of something...I don't know what this bush is....do you? Barb, are you reading this? You must know the name of this.
Rose hips
Emma
and cattails at the end of our walk...thanks for coming along.

THANK YOU for taking us on that lovely walk!

This must be so refreshing after dealing with the crap on your street, eh?

Soon I'm going to show off our town's dog park. Little plot of weeds and delight!

something creepy about ruins and rusted hulks...
i've seen the white berries before, often used as hedges, i do not know the name but barb will know. she knows about lots of stuff. just today in fact she told me about using cornmeal if you have an ant problem!
hey did you hear about willie being picked up by state troopers for posession?!?

Looks like you had a beautiful day! I've been thinking about your previous post. I didn't comment. All I could think to say was "be safe", and then I sounded like my mom, so I didn't say it. But there you go. Hope you take care.

Say hey, Emma!

Barb the know-it-all thinks that the berries are Snowberry...poisonous! They have a dry, puffy sound when you squash them.
Emma looks most impressive posing on the rock.
The ant/cornmeal tip that Cara mentioned originally came from Em and I forwarded it on to Newfoundland.
Thanks for posting the fab pics of the rusty and crusty (there's a flickr group by that name, too).

hickchic~ our dog park bites! Pardon the blatant pun...I will take a photo sometime...not that Emma is allowed(she bites big dogs)
Cara~I did hear about Willie and it sickens me... you all know you are going to find pot on the Honeysuckle Rose...leave the guy alone, he has given more back to the people of all countries than this bust could possibly be worth to those ASS~HATS!!! How much Farm Aid money is in Louisianna? I used to work at Mesa Verde, in Colorado with the old Anasazi Cliff Dwellings? Now those were some ruins for you....wowzers!
gawilli~most of the time I am fairly passive agressive with the "garbage" around here...but sometimes, like if I have had THREE beers, I like to go out and hassle them...most of them are chicken, or just too fucked up to function...I have been lucky.
life~she is becoming more relaxed daily, each day better(if only slightly) in all ways..her personality is beginning to shine and she is very, very slowly beginning to lighten her attitude with the dogs we know, at least.
Barb~ never a know it all! but you do know so much about things that grow...things like plants and children, love and friendship...important things. see you soon, hopefully.
