Okay, okay...the sink. I guess no photos of my house are complete without her. She is original as well, the new cabinets were built up around her.
She is all porcelain. She has drain trays built right in on both sides, sloping gently back to the double sinks. I can wash my dishes and put them in the dish drainer soapy and rinse them all there and all the water goes right back into the sink. We love her. She was the deal sealer on this house...for real. A real beauty in this modern world. And no, I do not have a name for her yet. Even after all this time.

DEAR SANTA,
I WANT A SINK JUST LIKE LESLIE'S. I HAVE BEEN GOOD.
XOXO BARB
P.S. COULD YOU AND THE ELVES TAKE A MINUTE OR TWO TO INSTALL IT BEFORE EATING THE MILK AND COOKIES?
That's a REAL cooks sink.
Wow, I have actually put in a cosmic order for a big porcelain sink like that for my future farmhouse! I don't even have to have a drainer on both sides.
We found a porcelain sink for our bathroom last year. I insisted on doing vintage for our 1958 house.
Our house isn't old enough for me but I tried hard to retain some of its coolness.
I love your house and I really think it reflects your arty coolness!!!
so lets give her a name, its got to be a pretty name how about princess procelain or pretty patsy
How cool. I wish that our little house had more of the original fixures and wood work.
I love, love, love the sink.
wow!! we also have the original porcelain in our house, which was also the clencher with this place. except ours is a half of yours same style though. i bet it's a shirley. that's what ours is, i didn't need to name her, it was written across the front. i even wrote a song about her, and her own room off the main kitchen, with a little window and serving door.
anyhow, i'll send you a shot of shirley and the song about her... go look at your sink see if she'a a shirley.
Nothing is complete without the kitchen sink...ha ha, I know it's cheesy;-)
I like your house! Very cute and cool pictures!
You and Heidi seem to have the coolest houses in the world!
cara...no name anywhere on our sink...not that I can find, anyway. maybe it's been covered by the new cabinets or something...we have the old cabinets in the basement for storage... they are made of enameled steel...
if it's not Shirley, maybe Beatrice.
Or Mirtha.
I love that sink!
My little cabin in Oklahoma has a sink EXACTLY like that. I need new cabinets, but I love that sink. The porcelein is worn out on it.
I once took a boyfriend to my cabin. He looked at my sink and said that it should be replaced! I broke up with him quickly thereafter. ASS-HAT! Can you believe he didn't see the magic of the sink? Well, there is no accounting for bad taste. Yours is obviously magificent!
Wha?????? Replace a treasure like that? He was an ass-hat and you were lucky to have realized the extent of that...this has been restored..the porcelain was well-worn. I tell you, I was kind of reticent to say how much I LOVE my sink, but everyone is making me feel much better about it. Thanks.
